Dr. Sharon Meit Abrahams

Dr. Sharon Meit Abrahams is a legal talent development expert helping lawyers improve their performance, productivity and profitability through skill assessments, coaching and interactive workshops. For over 25 years Dr. Abrahams has designed, implemented and managed every aspect of the services that firms offer to support and develop their legal talent. From an attorney’s first day to their last at a firm, Dr. Abrahams has a service that will enhance their engagement and success.

Dr. Abrahams has authored three books published by the American Bar Association and over 60 articles related to professional and business development in the legal profession. Dr. Abrahams’ years of experience includes client relationship building, business development techniques, communication skills and management/leadership development training. She has conducted over 170 seminars on a wide variety of topics for esteemed audiences at the ABA, ALA, NALP, local bar associations, Harvard, Yale, Cornell, Northwestern, University of Virginia, University of Chicago and Duke Law Schools as well as others.

She was appointed to the Professional Development Committee of the Law Practice Division of the ABA and served as the chair of the Professional Development Advisory Committee of the Association of Legal Administrators.

Because of her love of teaching, Dr. Abrahams was faculty for 10 years at the Center for Management Development at Florida International University, teaching training and human resources courses. She also served as an adjunct professor in the doctoral program titled "Organizational Leadership" at Nova Southeastern University. 

Dr. Abrahams has a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master’s of Science in Education from the University of Miami and her doctorate from Nova Southeastern University.

She gives back to the community by conducting workshops gratis for 501c3 organizations across the country.

John Remsen, Jr., is widely recognized as one of the country’s leading authorities on law firm leadership, management, marketing and business development. Since 1997 TheRemsenGroup has consulted with more than 400 law firms and thousands of law firm leaders to help them develop and implement long-term strategic objectives to improve cohesiveness, profitability and sustainability. 

John is a frequent speaker and author on law-firm leadership and marketing topics. He has spoken at national and regional conferences of the Legal Marketing Association, Association of Legal Administrators, American Bar Association, and numerous state and local bar associations. His articles have appeared in dozens of highly respected legal publications, including the ABA Journal, Law Practice Management, Law Practice Today, Law360, Legal Management, Marketing for Lawyers, Marketing the Law Firm, Managing Partner, National Law Review and New York Law Journal.

Since 1988, John has been an active member of the Legal Marketing Association, and he has served as President of LMA’s Southeastern Chapter, Executive Editor of Strategies (LMA’s newsletter) and a member of LMA’s national Board of Directors. He is also an active member of the Association of Legal Administrators and a popular speaker at ALA meetings and conferences.

In 2002, John created The Managing Partner Forum, a highly acclaimed conference series and community for managing partners and law firm leaders. More than 1,200 firm leaders from 900 law firms from 43 states have participated in 26 conferences. In addition, John distributes The MPF Weekly, an electronic newsletter to more than 10,500 firm leaders throughout the U.S., Canada and 28 other countries.

John’s influence was underscored when he was inducted as a Fellow of the College of Law Practice Management in 2013, in recognition of his 25 years of demonstrated expertise in law firm leadership and management. Founded in 1994, the College honors those who “inspire excellence and innovation in law practice management.” Membership is by invitation only and includes just 200 individuals. 

And the College was not alone: in 2016, John was recognized by LawDragon as one of the “Top 100 Consultants and Strategists” to the legal profession; and in 2017, John was recognized as one of the world’s top “leaders and influencers” in the business of law by the Association of International Law Firm Networks.

A native of West Palm Beach, Florida, John holds an MBA from The University of Virginia (1985) and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida (1980). Prior to enrolling in graduate school, John was Executive Director of The Florida Council of 100, an organization comprised of Florida’s top CEOs and other business leaders.  





Alison R. Christian, Esq.

Alison R. Christian is an AV-rated shareholder at Christian Dichter & Sluga, P.C., a certified women-owned law firm in Phoenix, and her practice is dedicated to insurance coverage and insurance litigation matters.In 2012, she co-founded a business development program to empower women lawyers called “Ladder Down". The program is unique in both structure and content, and runs year-long with monthly sessions dedicated to instruction in three key areas: leadership, business development, and mentoring. She partnered with the prestigious Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel in 2016 to launch FDCC Ladder Down programs in San Francisco and Seattle, in addition to the long-standing program in Phoenix. The FDCC also launched a new program in Cleveland in January 2019.

Alison is active in the local and national defense communities. She has served on the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel Board of Directors since 2011 and is currently serving her term as President. In December 2014 she was appointed to serve on the DRI Membership Committee, and in July 2015 she was admitted to the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel as one of its youngest members. She was also recognized by Arizona Business Magazine as one of the most influential women in Arizona business, the youngest of five honorees in the 2014 "Generation Next" category. In 2016, she was included among the Top 10 Most Influential Millennials in Arizona.


Donna J. Markus
Chief Operating Officer, Kopka Pinkus Dolin

Donna J. Markus is the Chief Operating Officer at Kopka Pinkus Dolin where she successfully manages seven offices throughout Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Michigan. She has over 15 years of experience in the legal industry with an exceptionally versatile background. Donna is highly skilled in streamlining processes, training, cash flow and profitability, remodeling offices and driving change within the organization. 

As a leader, Donna possesses a passion for driving a positive culture in the workplace and places a strong emphasis on core values and appreciation. She believes in nurturing an atmosphere where all employees feel valued and dedication is rewarded. 
Earning her Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) focused in Business Management from University of Wisconsin-Stout, Donna is currently working on her Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.  

Personally, Donna is married with two children, Madalyn (11) and Josie (6). In her personal time she enjoys going to their cabin with her family and loves to fish.  


Francisco Ramos, Jr., Esq.

Frank is the Managing Partner of Clarke Silverglate, where he practices in the areas of commercial litigation, drug and medical device, products liability and catastrophic personal injury. He is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and is listed in Best Lawyers in America for his defense work in product liability matters. Frank has been with Clarke Silverglate for virtually his entire career.  He has tried to verdict personal injury, medical malpractice, product liability, and inverse condemnation cases. As a certified mediator, Frank has resolved numerous matters through alternative dispute resolution.  

Frank is an ambassador for the Firm’s mission of leadership and service. He has been President of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association and the 11th Judicial Historical Society and has served on the boards of the Defense Research Institute, Florida International University’s Alumni Association, Florida International University’s Honors College, Parent to Parent of Miami, Miami-Dade Defense Bar Association, Legal Services of Greater Miami, and Florida Christian School. He serves as a mentor to countless young lawyers and law students through his publications, social media posts, presentations, webinars, and his “coffee chats.” Frank has written seven books for lawyers, edited four books for lawyers, and has written over 300 articles for lawyers and business professionals. 

Franks’s dedication to young lawyers is exemplified through his development of a Deposition Boot Camp and Art of Marketing Program for the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel, an invitation-only defense organization that handpicked Frank for membership just eight years into his practice. Frank’s daily practice pointers and business tips on LinkedIn has almost 35,000 followers.

In his spare time, Frank enjoys writing, reading science fiction, and listening to his two sons, David and Michael, perform classical and jazz music.
